🧾 What Is the Canada Disability Benefit?
The Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) is a new monthly federal payment of up to $200/month (or $2,400/year). The exact amount varies depending on your income and other eligibility factors. Payments begin July 17, 2025, and will continue on the third Thursday of each month.
✅ Who Is Eligible?
To qualify for the CDB, applicants must:
Be between 18 and 64 years old
Hold a valid Disability Tax Credit (DTC) certificate
Be a resident of Canada
Have filed an income tax return for the previous year
These requirements ensure the benefit reaches those most in need.
🗓️ When & How to Apply
Applications opened on June 20, 2025. To receive your first payment in July, your application must have been submitted and approved by June 30, 2025.
If you apply after that date, you can still receive retroactive payments back to June 2025, but not for any months before that.
